Privacy Policy
Proper Study ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered study platform available at chat.sitescanpro.in, support.sitescanpro.in and sitescanpro.in. We build this service for Indian students, and we take your trust seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have under the Information Technology Act, 2000, the SPDI Rules, 2011 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your email address (used for OTP login). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
- Study content: the questions you type, images you upload (such as photos of doubts), and your chat history.
- Usage data: message counts, timestamps and the AI model used, so we can apply your plan's limits and keep the service fast.
- Plan information: your current plan (Free, Weekly, Monthly or Yearly) and subscription status.
- Payment information: handled entirely by Razorpay. We never see or store your card number, UPI PIN or bank details.
- Technical data: basic device and browser information and error logs needed to keep the service running.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the service: answering doubts, generating summaries, quizzes, revision plans and marks estimates.
- To apply plan limits, fair-usage rules and billing.
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- To improve the product using aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. AI processing of your content
Your questions and uploaded images are processed by open-source AI models (such as Qwen and MiniCPM) running on infrastructure we operate. We do not send your chats to third-party AI companies, we do not sell your data, and we do not use your personal chats for advertising.
4. Cookies & local storage
We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in between visits (secure session tokens via Supabase). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
5. Who we share data with
We only share data with the service providers that make Proper Study work, each bound by their own privacy policies:
- Supabase — authentication and secure database storage
- Razorpay — payment processing
- Google — only if you choose "Continue with Google"
- Netlify — website hosting
We may disclose information if required to by law or a valid government order.
6. Data retention
- Account and chat data are kept while your account is active.
- On a verified deletion request, personal data is deleted within 30 days.
- Usage logs are retained for up to 12 months for security and billing purposes.
7. Children & parental consent (DPDP Act)
Proper Study is designed for students. If you are under 18, you must use this service with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, as required by the DPDP Act. We do not knowingly process a child's personal data without verifiable parental consent where the law requires it. A parent or guardian may contact us at any time to review, correct or delete a child's data.
8. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, withdraw consent, and escalate a grievance. Email us at support@sitescanpro.in and we will respond within 30 days (or sooner where the law requires).
9. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit (HTTPS), authenticated sessions, database row-level security and access controls. No system is 100% secure, but we work hard to keep yours safe.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where significant, notify you in the app or by email.
